After defeating the ghoul, the gang moves on to find a super hungry ogre cowering behind a decrepit orcish throne. The ogre had obviously been terrified by the ghoul in the first room, and as he was explaining this to the gang, they killed him.
Hard.
So he's dead now.
Moving on, the gang sent the trap monkey onward to investigate the dark passages ahead that could be riddled with all sorts of nasty beasties or diabolical traps. Donning his cloak of shadows and establishing a nocturnal rapport with the night, he slips away into the inky black.
A few minutes later he returns to inform the party that there are two ratmen ahead guarding a door. So, whatever.
The gang creeps up forward and with a well placed arrow and a well thrown knife, the world has the artistry of two less ratmen in it. Their names were Jorge and Calibrese. Jorge had just started to learn to play the pan flute. He was getting good.
The party drags the corpses back to the ogre's chambers and decides to investigate the other passage from the ghoul room after a long rest.
Heading north, they find a large, rickety rope bridge. Throwing caution to the wind, the party just charges across to no harm.
Except for the rogue.
Ropes are his thing.
It's a rope bridge.
He fell to his death.
I now call him Ropes Pierre.
The druid brings him back from the brink of death and they move on and find out that it circles them back to the ratmen area.
After debating the merits of ratmen genocide, the gang heads back to the ghoul room. Even though ratment are neutral evil beasties, their elimination has been averted for today.
Heading north the gang encounters a sleeping form and two sleeping dogs. Thankfully the druid was able to animal handle the shit out of them, keeping them quiet as the clangor of a full adventuring party attempting to sneak by.
They find themselves in a blind corner and decide to scale the cave wall in front of them, finding a ledge with a potentially secret door. After climbing up, the gang sets up a rope for the others to climb on. You can see where this is headed.
As Ropes Pierre falls from the rope to his almost second death, he said something like
"The secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant", but more to do with ropes.
After getting everyone up on the ledge, the party lashes themselves to the rock wall, all cozy like, and decides to take a long rest here.
Strapped to a wall.
